Florida Gulf Coast junior Gracie Redding (Orlando, Fla.) has been named the CCSA Women’s Swimmer of the Week, while Liberty junior Amy Schools (Clinton, Md.) has been named CCSA Women’s Diver of the Week for meets contested Oct. 2-9, the CCSA announced Tuesday.
Redding helped FGCU defeat Rutgers in a dual meet, 199-116, to open the season this past weekend. She was part of 55 of those points, claiming 18 on her own. Her first-place finishes included the 50 free, 100 free, 200 medley relay, 200 free relay and the 400 free relay.
Schools made her collegiate diving debut last weekend at Kansas. The former Liberty cheerleader placed fourth in both the one-meter and three-meter diving last Friday and Saturday. She scored 155.03 in one-meter diving — fifth on Liberty’s all-time top 10 performers list. Her 126.38 score in three-meter diving also ranks fifth in program history.
