As reported earlier today, Matt Mclean is suffering from a shoulder injury and is no longer able to compete at the 2015 World Championships. With adjustments made to the World Championships Roster, there were ripple effects felt by members of the Pan American Games roster. With this injury, McLean is no longer ably to compete at the Pan American Games, either.
Michael Klueh and Jimmy Feigen were pulled up from the Pan Am’s Game roster to fill the void left by McLean and a scratch from Ryan Lochte in the 100 freestyle. Becuase Michael Klueh is only competing on the world’s team as a member of a relay, he is still eligible to compete at the Pan American games. Jimmy Feigen dropped from the Pan American Games roster, however, to fill in for Ryan Lochte. That leaves two open spots on the Pan American Games Roster.
The two new additions to the Pan American Games Roster are Eugene Godsoe and Ryan Feeley. There were several moves within the roster, with new names added, events being dropped, and swimmers getting pulled up to the World’s team. An easy-to-follow summary of the moves for the Pan Am Games Roster is in bullets below:
- Matt McLean off Pan Ams Roster (Injury)
- Jimmy Feigen off Pan Ams Roster (bumped up to Worlds)
- Cullen Jones takes Feigen’s spot in the 100 free (already had the 50 free)
- Michael Klueh drops 1500 free, takes McLean’s spot in the 200 free (already had the 400 free)
- Ryan Feeley takes McLean’s spot in 400 free, Klueh’s spot in 1500 free
- Eugene Godsoe added for 100 back, 100 fly

So for the 4×200 all we have is Dwyer, and Lochte. Someone. will have to step up. I think Youngquist has what it takes.
Maybe Malone will be integrated as well or Conor Jaeger .. Big question mark for the relay
Between the lines is the revelation that the USA 4×200 relay just lost someone who was likely going to swim on the finals race. Phelps could’ve easily taken the 100free slot, just saying.
I hope Feigen gets his shape back on track ! the 400 free relay needs him seriously !
Wow, the Pan Am Games are going to be exciting this year! The US has an awesome Team! I think the Canadian Team (especially their women) will be very fast, and I think all of Latin America is so excited that the 2016 Olymics are being held in Brazil that swimmers from many countries will be breaking their national records! 🙂
Good, In shape Feigen is a medal threat, Lochte is not.
