D-III Swimmer Is Also a Rubik’s Cube World Champion

Kevin Hays, a sophomore on the Division III Washington University in St. Louis, is a 1:01 and 2:21 yards breaststroker.

They say its hard to go pro in swimming, but what about Rubik’s cubing?

In the above video, Hays, the World Champion in the 5×5, 6×6, and 7×7 Rubik’s cubes. Those are unusually big cubes, larger than the standard 3×3 that became such a huge hit in the 1980’s.

Above, see Hays demonstrate his skills on the Queen Latifah show; below see him break the World Record in a 6×6 cube. It almost looks like his video is working in fast forward mode, but it’s not: his hands are just moving that fast.

By the way, Kevin is majoring in math.
