Stanford sophomore Caroline Bricker swam a controlled 400 IM in the NCAA final, pacing herself during the first 200 before shooting ahead on the breaststroke leg and maintaining her lead on the last 100 to touch in 3:57.36. Bricker came into this meet confident in her abilities but didn’t necessarily expect to come out as an NCAA champion.
