NEC MEN’S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
Matthew Mays, Bryant

Mays took first in both the 100 and 200 backstroke at the inaugural NEC men’s swim competition against LIU on Saturday. With marks of 52.84 and 1:55.31, respectivelt, Mays currently leads the NEC in both events.
NEC MEN’S SWIMMING CO-ROOKIES OF THE WEEK

Groenewold took first in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:09.37. The rookie’s first collegiate performance on Saturday vs. LIU placed him first in the event across the NEC. With second place finishes in both the 100 breaststroke (59.17) and 200 individual medley 2:01.17, Groenewold also holds the second-best NEC marks in these events.
Daniel Chocano Fernández, LIU

Chocano Fernández secured victories in the 500 and 1000 meter freestyle events at his first collegiate swim meet at Bryant on Saturday. The rookie holds NEC top spots in both events with times of 4:51.20 and 9:53.37, respectively.
