Breaking: Tyler Clary out of Austin Grand Prix with back injury

  1 Jared Anderson | January 18th, 2014

Olympic Gold medalist Tyler Clary is scratching out of the rest of his swims at the Arena Grand Prix in Austin, Texas this weekend, according to Clary’s Instagram and Twitter feeds.

Clary has been dealing with a back injury over the past few weeks and re-injured it this morning. He was the second seed going into tonight’s 400 IM as well as the 7th seed in the 200 back, the event in which he won Olympic gold in London.

Clary was also slated to swim the 200 fly and 200 IM tomorrow, but it looks like he’ll be shutting things down for the weekend starting tonight.
