Paul Corbae

Paul Corbae
Born Aug. 19, 1994 to parents, Phillip and Margaret, Paul Corbae is a student-athlete at the University of Michigan. Corbae is currently in his junior year as a Wolverine, where he’s a student in the college of Engineering, with a focus on Nuclear Engineering. He’s a breaststroke specialist – his best event is the 200 breaststroke, and he also swims the 200 IM as his third event. Originally from Madison, Wisc. Corbae attended Westlake High School in the state of Texas, where he also competed for West Austin Aquatics. Corbae was an AP Scholar with distinction in high school, and has been working as a Research Assistant at the University of Michigan since May 2014 – he’s also been a student-athlete volunteer at Mott Children’s Health Center. He’s an Olympic Trials qualifier, and he was ranked among the top-10 in his age group in the 200 breaststroke.

Michigan
2012-2013
As a freshman Corbae focused on the Purdue Invitational in November – he also competed in the dual meet season. He finished fifth in the 200 breaststroke against Michigan State, and he came in second in the same event vs. Purdue.

2013-2014
Corbae competed at the Big Ten Championships his sophomore year. He made the ‘B’ final in the 200 breaststroke, finishing 16th, and came in 22nd in the 100 breaststroke, and 48th in the 200 IM. He also swam three events at the AT&T Winter Nationals.

2014-2015
Corbae is currently in his junior year.

National Competition
As a student at Westlake, Corbae was a two-time All-American and two-time All-State selection. Corbae qualified for the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials in the 200m breaststroke, finishing 88th overall. He also made a Junior National Championship cut and competed in the meet from 2010-2012, making it to the bonus finals.
