Road To The CIS Championships: Savannah King

Savannah King has been one of the best distance freestylers, not just in the CIS, but in Canada for some time now. Last season she took home a win in the 800m freestyle final, second in the 400, and was a big part of the winning women’s 4x200m freestyle relay.

Road To The CIS Championships: Tera Van Beilen

Canadian female swimming has typically had some top notch breaststrokers and fitting right into that category is UBC’s Tera Van Beilen. Van Beilen, a 2012 Canadian Olympian, has had plenty of success in the breaststroke events and is a favourite to make the World Championships roster this summer.

Top 10 In-Season NCAA Performances

Already this season she is within one second of that mark (1:40.31), and swimming faster in the event than she was last year. Going into the meet last season the American record was 1:41.21. Now, she’s swimming times like that in-season which is what puts this swim on this list.

Weston Girls Win Massachusetts Division 2 State Championships

The 2015 Massachusetts Division 2 Girls State Swim and Dive Championships took place this past weekend giving way to a very close competition that ultimately was won by the Weston girls.

Alyssa Marsh Downs Two Records At North Carolina 1A/2A High School State Championships

Marsh, the daughter of famed SwimMAC Carolina coach David Marsh, rocked two big back-to back wins both of which she won in AA-A record timing. The Pine Lake Prep swimmer first won the 50 freestyle where she was a 23.05 to take a solid chunk off the previous mark of 23.35. Marsh was also just off the state record in the race. She then went on to win the 100 fly in 54.08 dropping almost a full second off the AA-A record of 55.02.

Psych Sheets Released For Speedo Eastern and Western Canadian Opens

The psych sheets have officially been released for the Speedo Eastern and Western Canadian Opens, annual competitions which run towards the end of February dividing Canada into two parts for two of Canada’s fastest winter meets.

Dalhousie Tigers Win AUS Conference Championships At Home

The men put up 394 points on their way to a victory over Acadia University. Acadia was second with 257 points ahead of Memorial University. With that win, the Tiger men solidified their 17th straight AUS Championship victory.
