California Swim Coach Arrested On Suspicion of Having Sex With A Minor

I don’t think you can arrest someone based on suspicion. You have to witness a crime or obtain an arrest warrant based on a probable cause.

So suspicion is the same thing as actually committing a crime? I hope they have hard evidence that something happened. That isn’t mentioned.

Police had an arrest and a search warrant issued – clearly this isn’t just hearsay and rumors. My guess is that regardless of what exactly played out, this dude doesn’t belong as a coach of kids. And if it’s the truth, he belongs in jail.

Yes I understand, but rumors and hearsay shouldn’t equal jail time, if nothing actually happened… he could just be removed from being able to coach, be around children.

But if they issued an arrest and a search warrant, then the police clearly have some evidence that led them to make the arrest

Yeah, that isn’t mentioned though in either article that there’s any evidence

“Arcadia Police Detectives conducted an investigation, obtained an arrest warrant for the suspect, and a search warrant for the suspect who is 25-year-old Marco Antonio Flores from Arcadia, pictured below. On September 16, 2021, Detectives served the search and arrest warrants at Flores’ residence. Flores was arrested for violations of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, lewd and lascivious acts involving children, and other sex crimes.”

I don’t think the latter part of this paragraph happens if they first part bore no fruit.

Sad part about this is if he’s convicted won’t serve much time in CA.

My god, you are like a walking meme aren’t you? The guy who thinks COVID is a hoax and that we shouldn’t get vaccines is also skeptical of police investigations.

I wonder what other joys we would find if we clicked through your commenting history.

Hswimmer has to be a troll. I refuse to believe anyone can be that obtuse.

There are tens of millions similarly obtuse. It runs in the demographic. The message board of Letsrun.com is one Hswimmer after another. They denied Covid last year and throughout 2021 have desperately posted dozens of anti-vaccine threads per day. Same thing on college football sites that have adjoining political forums.

Agreed. Would like to see Hswimmer put some positive energy out into the world, rather than more emotionally reactive, adversarial posts.

Give him a break. In real life he doesn’t usually get to say much more than “would you like fries with that?”
