CLAREMONT, Calif. – First-year Anderson Breazeale was named the SCIAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week for events through Sunday, Nov. 10, the league office announced today.

Breazeale earned the honor after a strong effort in his first-ever SCIAC meet, a road dual against Caltech on Saturday. Breazeale won two individual events, sweeping the 200 back and the 200 free, while also earning a win with the CMS 200 medley relay team.

The Stags’ win over Caltech leveled their record at 1-1 on the year, after opening the season with a dual against Division II power UC San Diego on Oct. 26. CMS came into the season ranked No. 19 in the nation in the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America preseason poll and solidified its ranking with a strong start to its Division III schedule.

CMS will be back in action on Saturday for its first home event of the season, a SCIAC tri-meet with Chapman and Cal Lutheran, which gets underway at 10 a.m. with the diving portion of the meet.
