Nevada Women Deliver Dominant Performance Against UC Davis

Davis, Calif. – Nevada Swim delivered another commanding performance, defeating UC Davis 183.5-114.5 at Schaal Aquatics Center. The Wolf Pack on Saturday showcased their dominance across multiple strokes and distances.

The meet started with a strong performance in the 200-yard medley relay, where the team of Scarlett FerrisSara MihalicYasmin Perry, and Evie Floate touched the wall at 1:41.72, earning the first win of the day.

Keira-Lee Allott opened the distance events with a victory in the 1000-yard freestyle, finishing in 10:17.94. In the 200-yard freestyle, Enkhkhuslen Batbayar clocked in at 1:49.50 for the win, while Scarlett Ferris followed with another first-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke (54.35).

Sara Mihalic dominated the 100-yard breaststroke, finishing in 1:03.82. Yasmin Perry then claimed the top spot in the 200-yard butterfly, touching the wall at 2:01.84. Abby Parks secured another Nevada victory in the 50-yard freestyle, winning in 23.54.

On the diving boards, Bailey Heydra won the 3-meter event with a score of 314.45, contributing to Nevada’s overall lead. Lucia Gabino came in right behind Heydra posting a 275.93.

Parks delivered another strong performance in the 100-yard freestyle, tying for first place with a time of 51.82. Ferris added to Nevada’s victories by winning the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:03.28. Batbayar continued her standout meet with another victory, this time in the 500-yard freestyle, clocking in at 4:57.91.

 Perry added to her individual success with a win in the 100-yard butterfly, finishing in 54.77.  Heydra dominated the diving events, winning the 1-meter competition with an impressive score of 322.05. Gabino followed closely behind, securing second place with a score of 266.71, further contributing to Nevada’s success.

Nevada capped the meet with a dominant win in the 400-yard freestyle relay. The team of Ferris, Batbayar, Noelle Harvey, and Parks posted a time of 3:26.00, solidifying Nevada’s control of the competition.

Next up, Nevada Swim will host Fresno State at Lombardi Pool on October 26, with the meet beginning at 12 p.m.

DAVIS, Calif. – The Ags held strong against the tough bunch that makes up the Nevada Wolves, with some impressive finishes across multiple events.

“Our team raced tough today but UNR had many impressive swims,” says head coach Matt Macedo. “We cleaned up some details from last weekend and we had a good amount of season best times which was nice to see.

‘senior Sam Rhodes had a great day with two big wins,” which is absolutely true. Rhodes had an impressive first place finishes in the 200 yard breaststroke and 200 yard IM to help out the overall Aggie score. Sophomore Sophi Mackay also came away with a first place time in the 100 freestyle.

Junior Mackenzie Young led the Aggies in the diving squad, placing third in both the one and three meter events with strong solo performances.

UP NEXT: The Ags will shake off this loss and stay home for their first conference meet versus UC San Diego next Saturday on October 26th at 12:00 PM.
