INDIANAPOLIS – USA Diving selected five Longhorns to compete for the United States at the 2024 World Aquatics Championships in Qatar this February. Current Longhorns Noah Duperre, Hailey Hernandez and Bridget O’Neil as well as Texas Exes Grayson Campbell and Alison Gibson are among 21 divers named to the world championship team.
Hernandez and Gibson, members of the 2020 U.S. Olympic team, will both compete on 1-meter with Hernandez also competing on 3-meter and Gibson in 3-meter synchro. Duperre and O’Neil will represent Team USA in mixed 3-meter synchro and Campbell will compete on 3-meter.
Texas is one of three programs to have multiple divers named to the squad and has the largest representation of any program with UT’s five followed by Indiana with four and Purdue with three.
Additionally, graduate assistant coach Manny Pollard was named to the USA Diving coaching staff. Pollard will be the first Black coach on a USA Diving World Championship team.
Also competing in Qatar will be freshman Caroline Kupka, who will dive for Norway, and Texas Ex Paola Pineda, who will represent Mexico.
The World Aquatics Championships will take place in Doha, Qatar on February 2-18 with the diving competition taking place at the Hamad Aquatic Centre.
