USA Swimming sets 2022 Pro Swim Series Schedule

Thursday, USA Swimming announced its schedule of upcoming National-level meets, including the 2022 Pro Swim Series. The 2022 Pro Swim Series will include four stops, one each in the months of January, March, April, and June.

The schedule includes two fewer meets than the 2020-2021 PSS schedule did, though it will return to three of the same venues, including the newly-renovated Marguerite Aquatic Center in Mission Viejo. The 2022 Pro Swim Series represents an opportunity for the PSS to “return to normal” after cancelling three of the meets in 2020 (Irvine, Mission Viejo, and Indianapolis) due to the Coronavirus. Though the series ran about “normal” in late 2020 and early 2021–meaning without cancellations–three of the meets featured evening prelims and morning finals, similar to what athletes would race in Tokyo.

In terms of spectators, USA Swimming states that “All local, state, and federal health guidelines will be strictly adhered to at each competition site, and entry limits and spectator access will reflect these local restrictions.” Therefore, depending on a host state or city’s Coronavirus precautions, spectators could be allowed back.

  • March 2-5, 2022: Des Moines, IA
