GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Duke’s Easop Lee has been selected as the ACC Women’s Swimmer of the Week, and Louisville’s Molly Fears has been named Diver of the Week. The Cardinals’ Evgenii Somov has been named the Men’s Swimmer of the Week, and Duke’s Nathaniel Hernandez has been tabbed Diver of the Week.

Hailing from Baltimore, Maryland, Lee posted a strong performance in Duke’s win over No. 16 North Carolina. The sophomore swimmer swept the 400 individual medley, 500 freestyle and 1000 freestyle events.

Fears took both springboard events to help Louisville defeat No. 21 Indiana. The senior from Plainfield, Indiana, took first in the 1-meter competition with a score of 291.45, and won the 3-meter event with a 337.28. The honor is the fourth this season for Fears.

Swimming against the fourth-ranked Indiana men’s team, Somov won three of the four races in which he competed. The junior from St. Petersburg, Russia, won the 100 and 200 breaststroke and was also part of the first-place 200 medley relay and the second-place 400 free relay.

I agree. Last week I thought a pair of UVA women were robbed of this, but this week it’s clearly stewart who was robbed of this. They were tired of giving it to Douglass, and they were clearly tired of giving it to Stewart this week. Shame. Maybe Somov was awarded for having a -.70 relay start and not getting caught…
