While Virginia is running away with the championship, one of the most-watched team battles is between Stanford and Texas for second place. Stanford has been swimming quite well, outperforming the psych sheet by double digits each day. The Cardinal led the field on Friday with a 30-point improvement on their seedings, making for a cumulative 65-point gain over three days. Texas, meanwhile, has underperformed to the tune of -12 on Friday and a combined -35 for the first three days. What has kept the Longhorns in the race for silver are their divers, who have added 70 points -unanswered by Stanford- in the first two diving events.
Louisville, Southern Illinois, and Indiana all saw double-digit increases over the psych sheet on Friday. Alabama, Miami (FL), Florida, North Carolina, and Tennessee were down by double digits.
Indiana and Tennessee are in a close race for fourth place in the team standings, while Florida is battling Louisville for sixth.
Seed vs Performance – Day 3 Only – Swimming Events
(Note: the diving event was not seeded in advance so we cannot compare performance vs seed.)

Does Jacoby still swim?
Bay City Tex
Don’t know if enough would care to see it, but I’d bet the Texas and Stanford fans would love to see an event by event prediction of the score between the two teams as the day progresses through the conclusion. Diving is hard to predict,
but it could decide who finishes 2nd to Virginia. You have to go back a long time ago to see such dominance! Texas, way back in the day, had an unbelievable decade.
Anne Lepesant is the mother of four daughters, all of whom swam in college. With an undergraduate degree from Princeton (where she was an all-Ivy tennis player) and an MBA from INSEAD, she worked for many years in the financial industry, both in France and the U.S. Anne is currently …

You could do it and post it!
Georgia used to be good.

Virginia 383 + 163,5 = 546,5
Stanford 292 + 106 + 2 = 398
Texas 288 + 124,5 + 20 = 432,5
Indiana 209 + 64,5 + 19,5 = 293
Tennessee 195 + 117 = 312
Florida 177 + 44,5 = 221,5
Louisville 160.5 + 53,5 = 213,5
California 139.5 + 47,5 = 187
Michigan 121 + 83 = 204
NC state 114 + 63,5 = 177,5
Thanks for this! Hoping this comes to fruition!
If one delves deeper into the numbers, it’s even worse for the University of Virginia:
Canny, A. – minus 6
Grimes, K. – minus 5
Hayes, L. – minus 1
Weber, E. – minus 1
All four need to pick up the pace on Day 4.
These 4 will need to step up next year, but it’s not really a problem now.
Moesch, A. — plus 5
Curzan, C. — plus 3
Walsh, G. — —— (can’t improve on a first place projection)
Walsh, A. — ——- (See: Walsh, G.)
