After taking third in the 50 free Thursday (21.59) and 5th in the 100 fly Friday (50.94), Ohio State’s #8-seed Liz Li is not listed on the heat sheet for Saturday prelims. She was also 21.61 on OSU’s 7th-place 200 free relay, 50.94 swimming fly on their 17th-place 400 medley relay, and 22.75 swimming fly on the 13th-place 200 medley relay.
Though she would presumably be on Ohio’s 400 free relay, Li did not swim on the 800 free relay, so her individual events are not limited to two.

Other scratches in the 100 free include Payton Keiner, Kenna Ramey, Leah Goldman, Ky-lee Perry, Macie McNichols, Marissa Berg, Alyssa Marsh, Freya Rayner, and Catie DeLoof.
#22-seed Kristin Romano has scratched the 200 back after getting 10th in the 400 IM Friday (4:04.56). Other scratches include Carly Quast, Heidi Vanderwel, Reka Gyorgy, and Madeline Hess.
Lauren Barber, Marlies Ross, and Meaghan Raab are the only scratches from the 200 breast; Kathryn Painter and Christine Jensen are the only scratches from the 200 fly.
From the 1650, only Erin Early and Kira Zubar have scratched.
Don’t get why she would have scratched unless she was hurt. If she does the relay after scratching this I’ll be more confused.
Positive doping test?
This is quite common on day 3 at NCAAs (even more so at Men’s meet) when you need a perfect relay performance to qualify for finals. No guarantee she makes top 8 in individual 100, they are keeping her fresh for relay swim. While she was scratched, others will take DFS’s – essentially late scratches for same reason.
