In the past weekend, a nail-biter that came down to only a couple races between Yale and University of New Hampshire resulted in a great win for Yale with a tight score of 156.5-143.5. This seems to be one of the first meets of the year that Yale has really had a close call with the win, giving UNH a run for their money. With the impressive numbers posted by both teams, you can clearly tell that championship season is right around the corner as each team cleans up their performance and enhances their race emulation.

Yale freshman Kina Zhou took first place in all three of her individual events in the 50, 100, and 200 freestyle, but did not make an appearance in the 200 freestyle relay. Her win in the 50 was a 23.84, in the 100 was a 52.06, and 200 was a 1:50.72. Her 200 win was the only very close race by barely out touching Jenni Roberts of UNH who took second with a 1:50.75. Zhou was also on the second place Yale A-relay for the 400 medley relay as the freestyler with Sydney Hirschi, Michelle Chintanaphol, and Ali Stephens-Pickeral with a time of 3:52.38.
Jenna Bull of UNH had a good meet with two first place and two second place finishes. She anchored the winning relay for UNH in the 400 medley relay with Roberts, Katie Mann, and Alison Morales with a time of 3:50.30. Along with being a great freestyler, Bull won the 100 back with a 57.40 as she barely beat out Chintanaphol who took second with a 57.46. The two backstrokers reversed roles for the 200 as Chintanaphol took first with a 2:02.05 and Bull took second with a 2:02.53. Bull’s other second place was against teammate Roberts in the 200 IM as Roberts took first with a 2:03.37 and Bull took second with a time of 2:05.99.
Jenni Roberts also had two first place and two second place finishes with wins in the 400 medley relay and 200 IM and silver in the 200 free and 100 fly. Her second place finish in the 100 fly was a 56.05 as she fell short to Hirschi who won with a time of 55.94.
Eva Fabian swept both distance events once again with a killer finish in the 1000 free with a 9:57.87 which left Lauren McCandless in second places with a 10:14.18. She beat out teammate Isla Hutchinson-Maddox for the 500 free with a time 4:55.63 as Hutchinson-Maddox took second with a 4:57.28.
On 1 and 3 meter diving, Lilybet MacRae stepped up and took first place with respective scores of 320.85 and 254.25 as teammate Kelly Sherman took second on both boards as well with respective scores of 263.40 and 241.65.
