WATERVILLE, Maine – The Williams College Ephs won the first event of the 2025 NESCAC Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships hosted by Colby College on Thursday evening.

The 800 freestyle relay team of Carter Roebuck, Clementine Robins, Lily Codd, and Sophia Verkleeren combined for a winning time of 7:20.87. The foursome achieved an NCAA B-cut mark and dropped over 10 seconds off its seed time. The Ephs won the event for the second consecutive championship and 16th time since 2001.

The Tufts foursome of Madeleine Dunn, Quinci Wheeler, Selin Tuncay, and Noa Chambers placed second with a time of 7:28.63 (NCAA B-Cut), shaving nine second off the relay’s entry time. Amherst rounded out the All-NESCAC honorees as Lucy Smith, Paige Arnold, Megan Lee, and Maeve Kelley registered a time of 7:30.05 (NCAA B-Cut) to finish third and lowered the relay’s entry time by 15 seconds.

Friday’s day two action at the NESCAC Championships begins with swimming prelims at 10 a.m. The diving trials are set for 2 p.m. and the finals are scheduled for 6 p.m.

Killer DQ for the Bowdoin women. Natalie Garre has the fastest lead off in the field and second fastest split overall. Their time was right with Amherst and on the bubble but I would have said qualifying for NCAAs

7:33 was the invite time last year. I think they would have made it easily. Will have to use composite times. I agree this was a bummer.
