The Thursday sessions of the 2016 Paralympic Trials in Charlotte produced seven American Records and three Pan-American Records.  One of the stars of the show was Colleen Young, who will surely have booked her ticket to Rio with an outstanding 1:16.72 over 100 meters breaststroke.  That performance is Colleen’s first swim below 1:17 and is dangerously close to the S13 World Record of 1:16.23 set June 9th in Berlin by Germany’s Elena Krawzow.

Colleen currently trains in St Louis under Dave McCrary with the CSP Tideriders.  In the interview video, she gives us some insight into this swim, the process of getting ready for Rio, and her recent commitment to continue her swimming career at Fairfield University.
