Morgan Soulia, a national-level sprinter from Allegheny North Swim Club in Wexford, Pennsylvania, has verbally committed to the University of Richmond Spiders for 2015-16.
Soulia is a multi-time Pennsylvania state high school finalist for North Allegheny High School. In 2013 she took ninth in the 200 IM and was runner-up in the 100 free; in 2014 she took sixth in the 200 IM and anchored both North Allegheny’s 200 relays. Soulia dropped an astounding 23.22 anchor in their medley relay, outsplitting eventual-winner Hershey by .38 and falling .01 short of the state title.
Soulia’s best short course times over the last two seasons include:
50y free – 23.44
100y free – 50.82
200y free – 1:51.67
100y breast – 1:04.87
100y fly – 56.56
200y IM – 2:04.65
At the 2014 Atlantic-10 Conference Championships, Soulia’s best times would have landed her either in the A-final (50 free, 100 free, 100 breast) or the B-final (200 free, 100 fly, 200 IM). That’s a whole lot of versatility, which the Spiders will immediately put to good use. In addition, Soulia could potentially score on all five relays.
Soulia will be an excellent addition to the A-10 Conference Champion Spiders’ roster in 2015 and beyond.
Congrats Morgan!!!!
Yay! Morgan!! Congratulations!
