COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – UNLV’s Erika Carlson was tabbed the Mountain West Swimmer of the Week. Wyoming’s Alicia Gonzalez was named the MW Diver of the Week, while teammate Avery True earned the MW Swimming & Diving Freshman of the Week nod.

ERIKA CARLSON, UNLV
Junior, Seattle, Washington/Ingraham HS
- Guided the Rebels to a split week with a dual-meet win at BYU.
- At BYU, logged three individual event first-place finishes, in the 100-yard freestyle (50.30), the 200-yard free (1:48.86) and the 200-yard individual medley (2:02.05).
- Anchored the 400-yard free relay to a first-place finish with a time of 3:22.35.
- At Utah, collected three first-place finishes, in the 100-yard free (51.47), the 200-yard free (1:51.18) and the 500-yard free (4:58.75).
DIVER OF THE WEEK
ALICIA GONZALEZ, WYOMING
Junior, Canary Islands, Spain/Salesianos School
- Assisted the Cowgirls to a 2-0 week with dual wins over Northern Colorado and Air Force.
- Against Northern Colorado, recorded a first-place score on the 3-meter springboard (291.90), surpassing the NCAA Diving Qualifying zone, and a second place 1-meter score of 253.28.
- Against Air Force, collected two additional wins on the 1-meter (290.40) and the 3-meter (336.30), with both scores surpassing the NCAA Diving zones.
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
AVERY TRUE, WYOMING
Swimmer, Kansas City, Missouri/Liberty North HS
- Helped the Cowgirls to two dual-meet victories over Northern Colorado and Air Force.
- Against Northern Colorado, logged a first-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 53.14 and a second-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle (1:54.39).
- Against Air Force, logged fifth- and sixth-place finishes in the 500-yard free (5:19.11) and the 200-yard free (1:56.31), respectively.

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV women’s swimming junior Erika Carlson was named the Mountain West Swimmer of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
A native of Seattle, Washington, Carlson went undefeated with six individual wins in UNLV’s dual meet split against Utah and BYU. She led the Rebels to a road win against BYU, picking up three victories in the 200 free (1:48.86), 100 free (50.30) and in the 200 IM (2:02.05). Despite a loss against Utah, Carlson added another three individual victories in the 200 free (1:51.18), 100 free (51.47) and in the 500 free (4:58.75).
Additionally, Carlson was the anchor leg of a 400 free relay victory (3:22.35) against the Cougars. Along with that, she swam the third leg for the Rebels’ 200 free relay team that posted a second-place time of 1:33.54 against the Utes.
UP NEXT: The UNLV men’s and women’s diving teams will head up to the Golden State for the Trojan Diving Invitational hosted by USC from Friday-Sunday, November 22-24 at Uytengsu Aquatics Center. On the swimming side, the Scarlet & Gray returns to competition next month at the Minnesota Invitational being held from December 4-6.
