RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Sophomore Alex Vazquez set the program record in the men’s 3-meter springboard twice on Friday’s opening day of the Riverside Diving Invitational at Riverside Aquatics Center.
On the day, the Rebels collected two event victories among five top-5 finishes.
THE RUNDOWN – MEN:
– Vazquez earned a first-place finish on the 3-meter springboard, breaking his own school record in the process. Originally, he broke the record in prelims with a score of 408.45, but went on to shatter that in the finals with a 453.95.
– Senior Dima Tereshchenko earned a second-place finish in the 3-meter event, posting an overall score of 351.15.
– Additionally, sophomore Ronan Robinson dove to an overall score of 281.15, which landed him in fourth place.
THE RUNDOWN – WOMEN:
– Senior Vika Yanovska won the 1-meter competition with a final score of 318.00.
– Joining Yanovska in the 1-meter event, freshman Allyse Abbott tallied an overall score of 278.05 to land in third place. The score gave Abbott the fifth-best score in school history.
– Also showing strong efforts on the 1-meter board were senior Jenna Walch (253.05) and sophomore Chelsey Dorosh (252.75) who placed sixth and seventh, respectively.
– Sophomore Chloe Bohuslavizki scored a 248.05 in a ninth-place finish to round out the Rebel 1-meter competitors.
UP NEXT: The Rebels will conclude the Riverside Diving Invitational on Saturday. The meet will start at 9 a.m. PT.
RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The UNLV men’s and women’s diving teams collected three program records and three event wins on Saturday’s final day of the Riverside Diving Invitational at Riverside Aquatics Center.
THE RUNDOWN – MEN:
– Senior Dima Tereshchenko recorded a school record in the men’s platform prelims with a score of 355.65. He topped the eight-year-old school record previously held by former Rebel Lucas James (348.80) since 2016.
– In the platform finals, Tereshchenko went on to earn the event victory (332.40) and sophomore Ronan Robinson placed second (284.40).
– Sophomore Alex Vazquez broke his own program record in the 1-meter event, diving to a score of 372.75 which landed him in first place.
– Additionally, Tereshchenko placed second in the 1-meter event (346.70).
THE RUNDOWN – WOMEN:
– On platform, senior Vika Yanovska dove to a school record during prelims (257.65).
– Adding to her impressive day, Yanovska won the 3-meter event with an overall score of 339.50. The score gave her the third-best mark in program history.
– In the platform finals, freshman Allyse Abbott earned a third-place finish with an overall score of 243.80, which is the second highest score in program history.
– Additionally, sophomore Chelsey Dorosh placed fourth in the platform competition (234.30).
– In another top-5 finish, Abbott collected a fourth-place score of 303.55 in the 3-meter event.
– Dorosh also collected a seventh-place finish in the 3-meter dive (261.55).
UP NEXT: The UNLV men’s and women’s swimming teams will return to action at their annual UNLV Invitational meet, which is set for Monday-Wednesday, Dec. 16-18.

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – San Diego State’s Summer Westmoreland finished second in the 1-meter springboard event on Friday to lead the Aztec diving contingent at the Riverside Collegiate Invitational.
In the lone women’s competition of the day, Westmoreland eclipsed an NCAA zone qualifying standard with a season-high total of 290.15 points, climbing three places from the fifth position after the preliminary round.
The Aztecs landed three additional divers in the top 10 at Riverside Aquatics Center, including Valentina Lopez Arevalo, who still surpassed an NCAA zone qualifying mark of 270.05 points in the finals despite slipping from the top spot into fourth place following the preliminaries.
Elsewhere, Jessica Schroeder (253.75) was slotted fifth in the individual standings, while Alina Skrocki (251.95) took eighth, followed by Olivia Zamudio (246.55), who placed 10th.
Rounding out the SDSU delegation was Taylor Konopacke (204.90), who completed the final round in the 14th position.
San Diego State concludes its weekend stay at the Riverside Collegiate Invitational on Saturday when it competes in the 3-meter springboard and platform events, beginning at 9 a.m. PT.
RIVERSIDE, Calif. – San Diego State wrapped up action at the Riverside Diving Invitational on Saturday with a series of strong performances, highlighted by Valentina Lopez Arevalo’s victory in the platform finals, while Summer Westmoreland finished second in the event at Riverside Aquatics Center.
On the 3-meter springboard, the Aztecs also received a second-place showing from Alina Skrocki, while Lopez Arevalo was a close third, followed by Westmoreland’s fifth-place standing.
Lopez Arevalo captured her second event title of the year and first from the platform height after posting a season-best score of 321.35 points to shatter the NCAA zone qualifying standard (225 pts), while Westmoreland duplicated the feat with a career-high total of 252.90 points. Not to be outdone, Taylor Konopacke also eclipsed an NCAA zone qualifying mark in the finals with a season-best tally of 226.00 points.
Earlier in the platform preliminaries, Skrocki (265.20) and Jessica Schroeder (233.10) surpassed NCAA zone qualifying standards with respective collegiate-best scores. However, Schroeder (219.80) slipped into the eighth position in the finals, while Skrocki (210.45) placed 10th, followed by Olivia Zamudio (197.40), who was slotted 11th.
Previously in the 3-meter finals, the Aztecs’ top-four finishers all established NCAA zone qualifying marks (280 pts), including Skrocki’s career-high total of 321.55 points, followed by season-best scores from Lopez Arevalo (313.85) and Westmoreland (294.55), while Zamudio (282.25) took sixth with a career-high tally of her own.
Rounding out the SDSU delegation in the event were Schroeder (260.05) and Konopacke (259.85), who finished eighth and ninth, respectively, with both totals representing season bests.
San Diego State will break for final exams and the holidays before reconvening with a full squad on Thursday, Jan. 2, for a double dual meet vs. New Mexico and Pepperdine at Aztec Aquaplex. First swim is set for 2 p.m. PT.
