UNH Women Celebrate Senior Day With Win Over America East Rival Maine

DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire swimming and diving team defeated America East rival Maine, 190-101 on Senior Day on Saturday night at Swasey Pool from the UNH Field House.

The Wildcats won a total of 13 of 16 events in their final home meet of the season.

Senior Jamy Lum (Honolulu, Hawaii) broke the pool record in the 100 breast with a mark of 1:02.03, previously set by Allison Nahin in 2011 (1:03.50). Lum also took home the win in the 50 breast with a time of 30.12.

Junior Hannah Devine (Hamilton, N.J.) took home two wins on the day in the 500 free (5:06.56) and 1000 free (10:26.88) to pace the Wildcats, while sophomore Ciara Pradissitto (Milan, Italy) earned first-place in the 50 fly (25.53) and the 100 free (52.76. Graduate student Shelby Kasse (Hoofddorp, Netherlands) took home first in the 50 back (27.64) and 100 back (58.33).

UNH also received first-place finishes from Olivia Stille (Stockholm, Sweden) in the 200 free (1:56.24), along with junior Abby McKinney in the 100 fly (57.51). Freshman Audrey Mahoney (Downers Grove, Ill.) earned the victory in the 50 free at 24.17.

In the one-meter dive, sophomore Emma Clarke (Avon, N.Y.) posted a score of 253.83 to take home first-place for the Wildcats.

UNH’s 200-yard medley relay team comprised of Kasse, Lum, Pradissitto and Mahoney earned the win with a mark of 1:45.80.

The Wildcats honored their five-member senior class in a pre-meet ceremony. It marked the final collegiate home meet for Lum, Stille, Kasse, Madison Linstedt (Marion, Ohio) and Paige Edmier (Bartlett, Ill.).

UNH returns to the pool on Saturday, January 28 from the Wolff-Zackin Natatorium at 12pm in Storrs, Conn.

Durham, NH – The University of Maine women’s swim & dive team fell to the University of New Hampshire with a final score of 101-191.

The Black Bears finished with three first place finishes in the meet from Haylie CalverAinslie Boswell, and the 200 yard freestyle relay team.

Haylie Calver won the 3 meter dive with a score of 249.90. Calver also placed third in the 1 meter dive with a score of 249.900. Ainslie Boswell touched the wall first in the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:18.27. Madison Edwards, Syd Loper, Mia Poirier, and Hannah Deighan made up the 200 yard freestyle relay team that placed first with a finishing time of 1:40.74.

Madison Edwards completed the meet with a pair of third place finishes in the 50 yard backstroke at 27.96 and the 100 yard backstroke at 1:00.45. Isabella Irani also had a duo of third place finishes in her respective events, completing the 100 yard butterfly at 59.07 and the 50 yard butterfly at 27.28.
