The highest scratch of the day comes from Thiago Pereira in the 200 breaststroke. He posted the fastest time of the morning with a 2:14.58. Eugene Godsoe also scatrched his A final swim for the second day in the row. He qualified 6th in the 50 fly at 24.24. Another big scratch came from Jessica Hardy in the women’s 50 freestyle after qualifying for the B final this morning. She qualified 11th with a 25.87.
In the women’s 200 butterfly, Emily Overhalt scratched from the C final and Claire Donohue scratched from the D final after a soft morning swim. In the men’s butterfly, Dylan Bosch scratched from the C final after adding more than six seconds to his seed time this morning. Josh Prenot also scratched from the C final of the 200 butterfly.
Outside of the Hardy in the women’s 50 freestyle, the only other scratch came in the C final of the men’s 50 freestyle. Brazilian Junior World Record Holder, Matheus Santanta, scratched after tying for 22nd this morning at 22.28.
There were no scratches in the women’s 100 backstroke, but there were two scratches from the D final of the men’s 100 backstroke from Sam McHugh and Justin Ress.
The only scratch in the women’s 200 breaststroke came from the D final, where Et Roberts scratched.
There were no major scratches in the women’s 50 fly, but there were several shake ups in the men’s 50 fly. In addition to Godsoe’s scratch, Ryan Lochte also scratched his swim. He tied for the ninth fastest time of the morning with a 24.35.
The biggest scratch in the women’s 400 freestyle was Allison Schmitt. She finished second earlier in the meet and had a solid morning swim with a 4:12.85. Patricia Castro Ortega also scratched after posting the ninth fastest time this morning.
