TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State women’s swimming and diving dominated on Senior Day at the Indiana State Tri-Meet as the Sycamores topped both visiting Bellarmine and Eastern Illinois on Saturday afternoon at the Vigo County Aquatic Center.
The Sycamores topped Bellarmine (192.00-67.00), and picked up the win over Eastern Illinois (193.00-66.00) in their final home meet of the 2021-22 season. Bellarmine topped Eastern Illinois in the other meet in the Tri-Meet with the 141.00-121.00 score.
Indiana State took the top position in all 14 swimming events and relays, while the Sycamores divers competed in an exhibition in their final home meet of the 2021-22 season with Bailey Betzer and Sarah Montgomery posting top scores on the afternoon.
“In the water, we had a really nice meet. We made some nice adjustments from two weeks ago and got some pay off in both season and lifetime bests,” head swimming and diving coach Joshua Christensen said. “We also had some folks perform well in some off events, which is always fun. Overall, it was an excellent way to close out this portion of the season.”
The Sycamores also recognized their 2021-22 senior class following the Tri-Meet with a special presentation acknowledging the contributions of seniors Emily Webb, Keara Shelton, and Anna Maria Nasiou.
“We really enjoyed honoring our seniors today,” Christensen added. “Anna, Emily, and Keara have been great leaders for our program. It was also nice to be able to recognize Art and Randy.
