BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, NY – St. Francis Brooklyn women’s swimming and diving defeated Stony Brook 130-113 at the SFC Aquatic Center Saturday afternoon. The Terriers were led by Elayna Pistrin, Mariajose Lopez and Lorenza Kobaic who each won two races and diver Abby Scruton who won the one-meter dive.
Pistrin continued her strong fall, winning the 400 IM (4:41.09) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:06.93). Her win in the breaststroke came by over a second.
Lopez won both the 1,000 and 500-yard freestyles for the second straight week. She won the 1,000-yard event by over 23 seconds and the 500-yard event by over eight seconds.
Kobaic has been strong of late, and put together another solid day. She won the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke events. She won the 100-yard backstroke by less than .3 seconds, taking first ahead of three Stony Brook finishers.
Scruton won the 1-meter dive with a combined score of 234.40, defeating three Seawolves. Her score was nearly eight points ahead of the second place finisher and is a team record.
Boel Bergquist won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of (1:58.48) and added a second-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle (54.45). Laetitia Bouc took second in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 59.92.

The 200-yard medley relay squad took first, winning by just over a second to Stony Brook. Kobiac, Pistrin, Kristy Naagtzaam and Bergquist teamed up for the victory.
The Terriers continue competition next weekend against LIU.

BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, N.Y. – The Stony Brook swimming and diving team picked up wins in four events in a dual meet against St. Francis Brooklyn on Saturday at the SFC Aquatic Center. Despite a strong effort by Stony Brook, the Seawolves fell to the Terriers, 130-113.
Senior Maddy Enda secured Stony Brook’s first win of the day with a final time of 59.17 in the 100 butterfly. Junior Mary Kate Conway kept the momentum rolling for the Seawolves as she touched the wall in 53.89 to earn a first-place finish in the 100 freestyle.
Junior diver Sara DiStefano took home a first-place finish in the 3-meter diving with a final mark of 223.55.
The Stony Brook 200 freestyle relay squad ended the meet with a bang securing a first-place finish with a final time of 1:39.84.

We will learn and prepare for our next travel meet next weekend to keep things moving in the right direction!
