…The American team arrived in London today after their training camp in Vichy, France, and immediately began showing off their new digs in the Olympic Village. One of the highlights is this shot from Kara Lynn Joyce, referring to “top shelf powerade at the village bar”. See how to follow all of the U.S. Olympians on Twitter here…
…Missy Franklin has said “yes” to the Olympic rings tattoo. Showing the power of the tattoo as a sign of unity and fraternity between Olympic athletes, she said that after the Olympics, she would get the tattoo despite being only 17…
…In pre-meet comments, Australian World Record holder Stephanie Rice alluded that she’s “kinked her neck a little” while pulling her suit off after a time trial last week. She writes it off as a non-issue, but it brings up some concerns over the swimmer’s ongoing shoulder injuries. This is not the first twinge or tweak we’ve seen from a swimmer battling a suit this year; France’s Fred Bousquet walked away from the Charlotte Grand Prix with a rib injury suffered while putting on a jammer. This has been somewhat of a growing trend since zippers were eliminated from suits…
WELP NOW IM THINKING ABOUT STEPH RICE TAKING OFF HER SUIT AND NOPE, THAT’S NOT GOOD. NEXT UP, COLD SHOWER.
Some one please tell all the athletes who are going to get a tattoo of the rings that the yellow ring fades!!!!!!!!!!!! You can see many examples of this on past olympians. Make sure you design it in such a way that it doesn’t end up looking like you ran out of money and only got 4 rings.
Have heard the same thing – I want to say the ones gotten in Sydney were particularly bad. Outlines seem to be the way to go, though that requires a bit more pain.
Has anyone commented on how tough the Arena Carbon Pro Suits are to put on? Maybe it’s because of the Compression, but they seem even smaller than the typical LZR suit…
Any females that have experience putting on the fs3 (no, not me) know that it takes some serious work to put that thing on. Probably the reason why we didn’t see a whole lot of them at Trials this year. Already told my 15 year old swimmer to buy something else. She likes the Arena suit better.
