The South Dakota State men’s swimming and diving team placed first in the St. Pete’s Classic on Sunday in St. Petersburg, Florida.
The Jacks won six of the nine relay events.
Starting off the victories was the team of Tony Mikrut, Geoffrey Longhurst, Maclaine Johnson and Ben Sieve in the 200 freestyle relay finishing in a time of 1:29.45.
In the 800 freestyle relay, Spencer Sathre, Johnson, Christopher Rumrill and Matthew Carpenter placed first in 7:21.89, while Chris Angerhofer, Christian Offenhauser, Weston Christensen and Sieve came in second in 7:32.77.
Wyatt Rumrill, Longhurst and Josh DeDina claimed first as well in the 3×100 breaststroke relay (3:04.71).
The team of Johnson, Michael Carlson, Rumrill and Johnson captured first in the 500 freestyle relay in a time of 4:18.68.
Seniors Angerhofer, Christiansen and Carpenter finished first in the 3×500 freestyle scramble relay in 5:13.14.
Closing out the wins were Petersen, Rumrill, Donovan Taylor and Longhurst in the 200 medley relay (1:39.98) and Mikrut, Rumrill, Johnson and Johnson in the 400 freestyle relay (3:16.77).
