Slip ‘n’ Slide + 5 Meter Platform = Too Much Fun (Ohio State Style)

The Ohio State Buckeyes diving program had some fun going off the 5 meter platform this week. Rather than using the traditional form of an approved forward or backward position, though, they opted for the on-belly dismount.

The video, which was featured by the Today Show, shows members of the Ohio State diving team sliding off the 5-meter platform covered in mats, and sometimes managing to still add flips on the way down, while sometimes flailing into some painful-looking impacts.

The Ohio State men sent 4 divers to last year’s NCAA Championships, and they accounted for 40 of the team’s 91 points including platform champion Zhipeng Zeng. The women’s team also sent a diver, Haley Allen, to the NCAA Championships.

See the video below from the Ohio State Diving Team account.
