Serbia And Croatia Lead The World League After Round Two

The Balkan powerhouses Serbia and Croatia currently lead Group A and B respectively with 6 points each.

The teams who both have an Olympic title in their pocket (Serbia in 2016, Croatia in 2012) won their round two match last night in Montpellier (FRA) and Berlin (GER).

Serbia was facing the Germans and beat them 15-9, while Croatia defeated the French 14-9.

Group A’s Romania, playing at home, defeated Slovakia 12-10.

In Group B, Greece played the Netherlands and ended up winning by one goal different (9-8).

Finally in group C’s only game, Italy claimed the victory (10-7) against Russia.

Current ranking after round 2

Group A: SRB 6 (2W); SVK 3 (1W, 1L); ROU 3 (W, 1L); GER 0 (2L)
Group B: CRO 6 (2W); NED 3 (1W, 1L); GRE 3 (1W, 1L); FRA 0 (2L)
Group C: ITA 3 (1W)*; RUS 3 (1W, 1L); GEO 0 (1L)*

The game Italy-Georgia will only be played in 2017.

The third round of the FINA Men’s Water Polo World League 2017 will take place next year on January 10.
