Sarah Abril of Miami’s Gulliver Swim Club Commits to Loyola Maryland

Fitter and Faster Swim Clinics is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Sarah Abril of Gulliver Preparatory School and Gulliver Swim Club in Miami, FL has announced that she will attend college up north and will swim for Loyola University Maryland in the fall of 2019. A freestyle main, Abril will bring career-best times in the 200 and 500-yard freestyles that would be the second fastest on the team only behind current sophomore Emma Schouten. At the 2019 Florida Gold Coast Senior Championships, she showed off her versatility by taking 13th place in the 100-yard backstroke (1:01.84) and 9th in the 200-yard butterfly (2:15.62)

Best Times in Yards:

  • 50 free – 24.44
  • 100 free – 53.03
  • 200 free – 1:54.57
  • 500 free – 5:08.90

Abril will bring times that will be just outside scoring range for the Patriot League Championship meet. It took a 23.74/51.73/1:53.18/5:01.77 to qualify in the top 16 for the 50-500 yard freestyles. Sprint freestyler Claire Bowser is the only other verbal commitment for the Greyhounds for the Class of 2023.
