Sandpipers Of Nevada Distance Freestyler Noah Mudadu Commits To Arizona State For Fall 2025

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Noah Mudadu of Las Vegas, Nevada has announced his commitment to swim and study at Arizona State University, starting in the fall of 2025. Madudu trains with the Sandpipers of Nevada year-round and attends Faith Lutheran High School.

I am super excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and swimming career at Arizona State University. I’d like to thank my family and friends for supporting me along this journey. I would also like to thank Coach Jake, Coach Michael and Coach Ron for helping me fulfill my dream. A special thank you to Coach Logan and Coach Herbie for giving me this opportunity. Can’t wait for what is next to come, FORKS UP!

Mudadu, a distance freestyle specialist, swam at the 2024 Winter Junior Championships — West in four events, with his highest finish coming in the 500 free, where he finished 7th in a personal best of 4:20.97. He was also 12th in the 200 free, 22nd in the 200 back, and 79th in the 100 back.

While Mudadu had a great showing at Winter Juniors with best times in all of his events, his breakthrough came in his final two short course meets of the season: the CA/NV Winter Speedo Sectionals, which occurred a week after Winter Juniors, and the Speedo Sectionals in Justin, Texas, in early March.

At the CA/NV Speedo Sectionals, Mudadu took 2nd in the 1650 free with a big-time best of 14:53.49, claimed 3rd in the 1000 free with another huge career best of 9:01.83, and posted additional personal records in the 100 fly (49.53) and 400 IM (3:53.51). He also won the 500 free, though his time of 4:21.69 was slightly off his fastest-ever mark.

At the Speedo Sectionals, Mudadu touched 2nd in the 200 free (1:36.13), 3rd in the 1000 free (8:54.97), and 10th in the 500 free (4:16.84), continuing to drop time across all of his events.

Top SCY Times:

  • 200 Freestyle: 1:36.13
  • 500 Freestyle: 4:16.84
  • 1000 Freestyle: 8:54.97
  • 1650 Freestyle: 14:53.49

Mudadu would have been 2nd in the 1650 free and 3rd in the 500 free on the Sun Devils’ depth chart for the 2024-25 season. ASU’s top 500 and 1650 freestyler this past season was graduating senior Daniel Matheson, who notched times of 14:35.58 and 4:12.75, respectively. As a freshman, Mudadu will enter as the team’s top miler and the 2nd-best 500 freestyler, behind junior Reece Grady, who clocked 4:16.80 this past season.

Mudadu’s best times in the 500 and 1650 free would have been podium-worthy at the Big 12 Championships, the conference in which the Sun Devils compete. Matheson swept both events at that meet, while Grady won the 500 free ‘B’ final with a time of 4:19.03, after posting the aforementioned 4:16.80 at the Wolfpack Elite Invitational a few months earlier.

Arizona State just wrapped up their first season as a member of the Big 12 Conference and has established itself as the new superpower, winning by over 600 points ahead of 2nd-place University of Arizona. This came after Texas left for the Southeastern Conference following last season. The Sun Devils secured a 6th place finish at the NCAA Championships last month after capturing the overall title during the 2023-24 season.
