BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh women’s swimming and diving team rolled to its second straight win after defeating Rider 211-78 Saturday afternoon at Jacobs Pool.
The Mountain Hawks improved to 2-1, while Rider fell to 0-3. Lehigh captured 14 first-place finishes on Saturday.
Fifth-year Sarah Hardy had an incredible day, winning all four events she competed in. Hardy won the 100-yard backstroke (59.70), the 200-yard butterfly (2:05.34) and the 200-yard backstroke (2:10.18). Hardy also was on the winning 200-yard freestyle relay team alongside Danielle Prekop, Julia Stevens and Dagny Donaldson.
Senior Noel Fresa also won three events. Fressa captured first in the 200-yard freestyle (1:58.00), the 50-yard freestyle (24.51) and the 100-yard freestyle (53.27).
While Fresa took first in the 200-yard freestyle, Darrah Shuff took second (2:00.95) and Julia Stevens came in third (2:01.23).
Lehigh also had a one, two and three punch in the 50-yard freestyle after Caitlin Deitch came in second (53.65) and Darrah Shuff came in third (57.62).
Sophomore Mairin Ludwig also had a couple of first-place victories for the second straight day. Ludwig won the 500-yard freestyle (5:08.64) and the 1000-yard freestyle (10:37.14). Ludwig also took fourth in the 200-yard butterfly (2:12.26).
Prekop also won two events. Prekop had a first-place mark in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:07.20) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:27.85).
Stevens tallied a win for the second straight day. Stevens won the 100-yard butterfly (58.07).
First-year Kate Whitaker picked up her second win after winning the three-meter dive with 233.93 points. Sarah Gill took second in the three-meter dive with 218.78 points.
First-year Eliza Meth tallied her first win of her career in the 200-yard IM (2:11.90).
Lehigh will hit the road for a meet against Seton Hall in West Orange, N.J. on Nov. 4.

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – The Rider University men’s swimming and diving team came out on top in a tight dual meet at Lehigh Saturday afternoon, winning 150.5-131.5. The Broncs improve to 2-1 on the season, while the Mountain Hawks fall to 0-3.
The Bronc men won nine events in the meet.
Ethan Rogowski (Waterford, NY/Shenendehowa) earned the win in the 1,000-free, stopping the clock at 9:59.30.
In the 200-free, Matt Lequang (Plainsboro, NJ/Notre Dame) finished first, touching the wall at 1:44.10, just .04 seconds ahead of second place.
Lucas Racevicius (Watertown, CT/Holy Cross) and Nicholas Lane (Hackettstown, NJ/Lane Academy) swam one-two in the 100-back, touching the wall at 50.54 and 51.57 respectively. Racevicius later won the 200-back in 1:53.68. He would earn his third individual win in the 200-IM, swimming one-two with David Rucci (Sewell, NJ/Gateway Regional) in 1:58.34 and 1:59.26.
In the 100-breast, Alex Boeckx (Folsom, PA/Ridley), Matthew Borovik, and Max Connelly stopped the clock at 59.03, 59.12, and 59.17 to sweep the event for the Broncs. Connelly later won the 200-breast in 2:12.86.
Stavros Xantheas swept the diving events, scoring 251.40 on the 1-meter and 262.28 on the 3-meter.
NOTES & QUOTES
– Rucci and Mike Treglia (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill East) were two-three in the 200-fly. Rucci also took third in the 200-back.
– Billy Ruddy (Newton, NJ/Kittatinny Regional) was second in the 50-free and 100-free.
– Borovik swam third in the 200-breast.
– Rogowski claimed second in the 500-free.
– Lane finished second in the 100-fly.
