Repeat Louisville winners sweep AAC weekly awards

Louisville standouts Joao de Lucca and Kelsi Worrell have combined for 8 AAC Swimmer of the Year awards this season after sweeping the weekly honors for the week of January 21.

De Lucca was a dominant force at the SMU Classic in Dallas, winning two events against tough fields and putting up top-10 times in the NCAA in the process. He was 42.9 in the 100 free and 1:33.6 in the 200 for the Cardinals. It’s de Lucca’s 5th conference honor of the season.

Worrell helped the Cardinal women past Notre Dame at home, winning the 50 free and 100 fly, dipping under 23 in the 50 (she went 22.96) and going 53.44 in the 100 fly. She’s won this award twice prior in the 2013-2014 season.
