Ready or not, college dual meet season begins tomorrow with ‘Bama-Delta State

It’s still very early in September, but believe it or not, college dual meet season is already upon us. Alabama and Delta State will kick off the year with what appears to be the first dual meet of the 2014-2015 season, happening tomorrow afternoon in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Delta State, out of Cleveland, Mississippi, finished in the top 15 at Division II NCAAs last year on both the men’s and women’s sides. The Alabama men are coming off a resurgent season in which they finished 12th at the Division I NCAA Championships.

The meet will take place at 4pm Alabama time, which is the Central time zone. The two teams also kicked off last season with their dual, though it happened about a week later, on September 20th. The Crimson Tide won that dual on the road, 238-62 for the men and 242-50 for the women.

The Alabama swimmers will be off from competition for nearly a month following this meet, with their next opponent being Georgia on October 10th. Delta State doesn’t have any further meets listed on its schedule as of yet.
