PHOTO VAULT: SCAD Women Receive NAIA National Championship Rings

The SCAD Women’s Swimming & Diving Team received their NAIA National Championship Rings on Saturday, December 3rd, during the final session of the 2016 SCAD Invite.

The women’s team placed 3rd and the men’s 4th, but that didn’t dull the shimmer of the moment as the Bees celebrated their accomplishments from the 2015-2016 season.

The national title won in Columbus, Georgia last year was done in dominant fashion. In the final day of competition, Caroline Lepesant broke the NAIA National Records in both the 1000 and 1650 frees in the same swim, and then the team went 1-5 in the 200 fly – the first time that’s happened in any event in NAIA history. In total, they won 4 events in that final day to finish more than 250 points ahead of runners-up Olivet Nazarene (SCAD 753-Olivet Nazarene 502.50).

Below, check out images from the celebratory event.
