Phoebe Bacon Uses Last Season’s Success to Find Confidence This Season

Phoebe Bacon recaps the run up to the 2022 Minn Invite and how she felt about the swim meet.

Isabelle Stadden (Cal) – 50.88
Olivia Bray (Texas) – 50.97
Phoebe Bacon (Wisconsin) 51.50

Cal’s Isabelle Stadden defended her top time from this morning, taking the win tonight with a 50.88 that moves her up to #5 in the nation this season. That time was only 0.07s shy of the 50.81 she swam to take 7th in this event at NCAAs last season.

In a fun twist, the next two finishers tonight were Olivia Bray of Texas (50.97) and Phoebe Bacon of Wisconsin (51.50), who finished 8th and 9th directly behind Stadden in this event at NCAAs. Bray’s time tonight was actually faster than her 51.02 from finals in March, although a bit shy of her prelims time from NCAAs.
