OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha swim and dive beat Augustana at the H&K Pool on-campus today, with the men winning 196.00-98.00 and the women taking their dual meet 195.00-105.00.
The Mavericks had 23 first place finishes out of 32 events that took place between the men’s and women’s teams, respectively.
Senior Hailey Matthews won three individual events today. The women’s 200 freestyle, 500 freestyle and 200 IM.
Five other Omaha student-athletes won two individual events as well.
Of the four relay events, the Mavericks won all except for one.
The Mavericks are now collectively 2-0 against the Vikings. In one previous dual with Augustana on Oct. 27, 2023, the men’s team won 209.5-90.5. The women won on that same day 205-93 in their one other matchup with the Vikings.
Omaha will be back in action on Friday, Nov. 1 and Saturday, Nov. 2 when it matches up with Missouri State in Springfield, MO.

In the Fast Lane
-The first AU victory of the season came in the first event as Bryn Greenwaldt, Nesrine Jelliti, Angelina Chan and Meesha Montgomery combined for a win in the 200-medley relay with a time of 1:42.28.
-On the men’s side, Aidan McCusker was the first to victory after closing the 1000-free in 10:03.54, nearly five seconds ahead of second place.
-In the women’s 100-backstroke, Greenwaldt made a statement with a time of 55.18, placing first while Ella Ward-Zeller finished second.
-The Viking women took the top three spots in the 100-breaststroke with Nesrine Jelliti leading the way at 1:04.36
-In the men’s 100-breaststroke, Mason Kauffeld swam to victory, touching the wall in 57.53, 0.33 seconds faster than second place.
-Jelliti added another individual victory in the 200-breaststroke, winning with a time of 2:24.62.
-Kauffeld also earned a second victory, this time by .05 seconds in the 200-breaststroke.
-Rounding out the Viking winners was Pedro Borin, whose 50.62 time in the 100-fly was enough to earn a victory.
