Trent Trump has signed on to join Grand Canyon University in the fall of 2014. Trump is a backstroker/freestyler out of Livermore, California.
He becomes the second member of GCU’s recruiting class after Nathon Burwick signed in November.
Trump should be a factor in the backstrokes, but he might be even more valuable in the 200 free and 800 free relay.
Trump swims for the Livermore Aqua Cowboys, where he holds top times of 1:38.09 in the 200 free, 1:50.13 in the 200 back and 50.82 in the 100 back. He should contribute on free relays and have a shot to do the same on medleys at some point for the Antelopes, who are just beginning the transition to Division I this season after years as a Division II powerhouse.
