New Poll Question: Will Aaron Peirsol Retire Prior to the 2012 Olympics?

Check out the new poll question on the right side of the page, and weigh in on whether or not you think that Aaron Peirsol will retire prior to the 2012 Olympics in London.
After qualifying as the fastest American 100 backstroker over the summer, the Longhorn Aquatics swimmer has declined invitations to both the 2010 Dubai Short Course World Championships and the 2011 Shanghai Long Course World Championships, as well as skipping the Austin Grand Prix where he has been a fixture.

So far, Peirsol has denied the rumors, and says that he’s just taking some time off from training, but skipping consecutive World Championships is a surprise even for the laid-back Californian.
