San Jose, Calif – The Nevada swim team picked up its first win of the season over San Jose State this Saturday. The Pack finished the relay meet against San Jose State with a score of 63-47.
Nevada secured the win in the first four events of the meet before the break. Wiktoria Samula, Josien Wijkhuijs and Julia Adamczyk won the 150 Butterfly relay with a time of 1:17.95. Wijkhuijs came back into the pool to help the Pack win the 150 Backstroke relay, together with Benedict Nagy and Kyla Alexander, finishing with a time of 1:19.48. Continue the breaststroke tradition to the Pack, Samula, dePolo and Nicolette Jasko picks up the win in the 150 breaststroke relay with a time of 1:29.00. Leading into the break, Nevada A with Mariana Vignoli, Caitlyn McHugh, Adamczyk, and dePolo finishes the 800 free relay on the top with a time of 7:36.17.
Coming off from the break, Nevada finishes the 500 yard relay on head-to-head race against SJSU to finish in second for the first time of the day. The 400 medley relay placed first and second, with a time of 3:50.55, while Nevada B finished in 3:56.09. To close the second part of the meet Nevada secured another win in the 200 free relay event. McHugh, Colette Berkenfield, Jasko and Wijkhuijs finished the event with a time of 1:38.27.
Leading into the last part of the meet, the Pack finished the 900 free relay in second and third with a time of 8:57.25 and 9:12.35, respectively. Nevada comes back in the pool to finish the 400 IM relay in first and second, in 3:58.69 and 4:06.90. Coming off from a series of wins, Nevada closes the meet by winning the 400 free relay in 3:30.27.
Nevada swim will be back on the road for the Chick-Fil-A invite on Oct. 8-9 at Fresno State.

SAN JOSE, Calif.—For the first time since February of 2020, the San José State University women’s swimming and diving team competed as a complete team as SJSU swam against Nevada Saturday morning in a relay meet at the SRAC Pool on the San José State campus.
Competing against one of the top teams in the Mountain West in Nevada, the Spartans won the 500 freestyle relay and 900 freestyle relay as the two teams competed in 10 races Saturday. The Wolf Pack won the meet 63-47.
- Zsofia Muzsnay, a freshman from Hungary, made an immediate impact on the Spartan team. Swimming the leadoff leg of the 800 freestyle relay team, she set a pool record with a time of 1:52.49, breaking the record held by Gabby Heng.
- The winning 500 relay team included Daria Cocol, Ela Frieman, Reka Kovacs and Muzsnay, while Frieman, Kovacs and Muzsnay combined for the 900 relay team win.
The Spartans compete at Stanford next Friday, October 1, beginning at 2 p.m.
