Nevada State Champion Isabella Aiello Headed to Swim for California Baptist Starting Fall 2024

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Isabella Aiello, a two-time individual Nevada state champion, is heading to Riverside this fall to swim for California Baptist University.

“I am beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to California Baptist University to further my academic and athletic career!” Aiello said. “I want to thank my parents, my coaches, and my teammates for their continuous love, support, and encouragement to achieve my goal of becoming a D1 athlete. Thank you to Coach Jim and the rest of the coaches and team for welcoming me to the Lancer family. LANCE UP!!”

A sprint freestyler and butterflier, Aiello swims for the Sandpipers of Nevada under coach Jake Des Roches and attends Green Valley High School. Aiello closed out her high school swimming career by taking home individual state titles in the 50 free (24.88) and 100 free (53.54) at the 2024 NIAA 4A State Championship.

Aiello closed out her short course club season at the TYR Desert Committee Championship back in February, where she won the 50 free (24.97). Aiello also posted two 3rd-place finishes, turning in personal best times in the 100 free (54.21) and 200 fly (2:13.39), while her 5th-place performance in the 100 fly resulted in a season best time of 59.16.

Best Times SCY:

  • 50 Free – 24.74
  • 100 Free – 53.54
  • 100 Fly – 57.81
  • 200 Fly – 2:13.39
  • 200 IM – 2:12.91

A Division I Mid-Major school, California Baptist competes in the Western Athletic Conference. The women’s team placed 5th out of 11 teams at the WAC Championships this past season, bringing home two individual titles. Aiello’s times would have only landed her in the ‘C’ final in the 100 and 200 fly, although she would have been 4th on the team in the 100 and 5th  in the 200 based on the Lancers’ times from this past season.

Aiello is the second Sandpiper in recent years to head off to Riverside, as former teammate John Sullivan is heading into his senior year on the team at California Baptist.

Aiello will be joined by Eliza Taylor, a versatile swimmer from California, as part of the incoming class heading to California Baptist.
