Nay Believes She’ll Need Surgery After Dislocating Left Shoulder in Cairns

Early on Monday morning,  Swimming Australia announced that Meagen Nay would be pulling out of the Commonwealth Games due to ongoing shoulder problems: problems that it appears will have her out longer than that.

While the issues for Nay on her left shoulder have been ongoing, the specific aggravating incident was a partial dislocation at a training camp in Cairns a few weeks ago.

Nay tells us today that she is considering undergoing surgery on the shoulder, which would have her out for some time. At 25-years old, however, she would still have time to recover fast enough to make a run at her first Olympic medal in 2016, when she would be 27.
