Missy Franklin scratched the 200 backstroke pre-session on the final day of the 2016 Arena Pro Swim Series meet in Mesa, but about 15 minutes into Saturday morning’s session, she Tweeted that she would also be pulling out of the 100 freestyle. That ends her meet in Mesa a day early.
“I wanted to let everyone know that I won’t be competing today,” Franklin Tweeted out at 9:11 Pacific Time. “I haven’t been feeling 100% so I’m taking the day to rest – coaches orders! I’m disappointed that I won’t be racing today for those of you coming to the meet to watch but thank you for all of your support!”

This is Cal fault
Yah it must be Cal’s fault because their swim program doesn’t produce any winners … really???
Only the summer counts.
Get well soon Missy.
She will deliver when it counts.
In Todd Schmitz we trust.
There are no haters of Missy. Some people just have more realistic expectations of what she can do at this point in her career.
Get better Missy
Ignore the haters–we all love you and want you to feel better, be happy, and swim fast! xo
Get some rest Ms. Missy and come back strong!
