It was another day in paradise for USA’s Becca Mann who has been dominating the swim racing here in Hawaii for the past two weeks.
Mann was unstoppable at the Junior Pan Pacific Championships and she ended her Hawaiian tour with the title at the famed Waikiki Roughwater Swim. She finished the 2.4 mile course in 50:38 – very impressive given the currents. Australian National Team member Rhys Mainstone topped the podium for the men zipping through the race in 47:29. Rhys was a silver medalist in the team 5K at the 2011 World Championship.

Both Mann and Mainstone will be headed over to California for next Sunday’s 2012 RCP Tiburon Mile in San Francisco Bay.
The RCP Tiburon crown comes with $10,000 in prize money for the male and female winner. Over thirty-four Olympians will attend the RCP Tiburon Mile and the RCP Tiburon Sprint Classic, a VIP-swimming stop-off after the 2012 London Olympic Games. Over twenty Olympians will compete. Most will get wet in the Sprint Classic, which will include Olympic icons like Matt Biondi, Tom Jager and Rowdy Gaines. Four-time Olympic gold medalist John Naber will host the RCP Tiburon Mile and Sprint Classic for the television production. I’ll cover the webcast for swimswam.com.
