Michael Lucchesi has been named head swimming and diving coach at Carroll University, announced Joe Baker, Director of Athletics.

Lucchesi, a UW-Milwaukee graduate and former Panther standout on the swimming team, takes over the Pioneers program for Andrew Multerer, who resigned over the summer to pursue other professional opportunities.

“Carroll athletics is very pleased with the recent hire of Michael Lucchesi as our head men’s and women’s swimming and diving coach,” said Baker. “Michael comes to us with an excellent competitive and coaching background. The Carroll swimming and diving programs have each grown over the recent years it their size and competitiveness, and we see Michael as a great selection in continuing its growth.”

Lucchesi remains an active competitive swimmer and brings real experience to the Carroll position as he instructs, motivates and develops swimmers and divers, according to Baker. Following his collegiate athletic career, he spent time as a volunteer assistant coach at UW-Milwaukee and an assistant coach at Greenfield High School.

In addition to his coaching responsibilities, Lucchesi will oversee the Van Male Natatorium as the Aquatics Director.
