Longtime So Cal volunteer Marilyn Ann Bolton passes away, celebration of her life scheduled for May 19

Marilyn Ann Bolton, long a staple volunteer in the Southern California swimming scene, passed away on March 30th. Now, a celebration of her life is scheduled for Monday, May 19th at the USC Uytengsu Aquatic Center.

The celebration will take place at 11:30 AM.

Bolton was honored with multiple awards for her service to the swimming community, including the Phillips 66 Volunteer Service Award and the Ed Ruth Officiating Award, according to the Southern California Swimming website.

SCS is also taking up donations in Bolton’s memory to help sponsor a lane at the new USC Aquatic Center. Donations can be mailed to

Such a nice lady. I can’t imagine how many hours she put in at swim meets. Her friendly smile and easy demeanor made checking in and admin tasks at meets a pleasure. She will be missed.
