California State University (CSU) – Bakersfield adds to their women’s swim team arsenal with the verbal commitment of Alexis (Lexi) Cannon. Cannon currently swims for Pinnacle High School (Phoenix, AZ), for whom she competed in the Arizona High School State Swim & Dive Championships held just this past weekend. In the meet, Cannon swam the 200y freestyle (2:00.20), 100y butterfly (1:00.80), and also split a 54.42 as part of Pinnacle’s 400y free relay.
In the club swimming realm, Cannon competes as part of the Arizona Gold Swim Club, where she clocked the following times at 2014’s Arizona Short Course Senior States:
50y freestyle – 24.94
100y freestyle – 52.92
200y freestyle – 1:52.89
100y butterfly – 58.55
200y butterfly – 2:10.77
Cannon is looking forward to attending CSU as she notes, “I am so happy with my decision because I loved the team and coaches. I saw myself being a part of the swim family.”
