The Gamecocks are on a recruiting roll. In addition to hearing from Emma Otten they also got a verbal commitment from Lauren Hilt for the University of South Carolina class of 2021.

The Appleton, Wisconsin native competed for Appleton North High School at the 2015 WIAA Girls Division 1 State Meet, where she was 13th in the 50 free and 21st in the 100 free, and swam legs on the 7th-place 200 free relay and the 5th-place 400 free relay. As a sophomore, she placed second in the 50 free and fifth in the 100 free in the 2014 WIAA Girls Division 2 State Meet.
Hilt swims year-round for Fox Valley Wave Swim Team. During the 2015-16 swim season she earned new best times in the 100/200/500y free, 50/100y back, and 50y fly, as well as the 200m back and 200m IM.
Her top SCY times are:
- 50 free – 24.02
- 100 free – 52.55
- 50 back – 27.52
- 100 back – 57.75
- 50 fly – 26.51
- 100 fly – 57.26
