Kieran Smith on 16×100 Best Average Weekly Progression with Florida Pro Group

2023 PRO SWIM SERIES – WESTMONT

When asked about his first go around as a pro during the conference/NCAA championships season, Smith said the Florida pro group put some hard work in. Notably, there was a stint where every Thursday morning they would swim 16×100 best average (LCM) on 1:20. Week 1 was butterfly, week 2 was backstroke, and week 3 was breaststroke. Then they did it again.

16×100 breastroke on 1:20? I didn’t watch the video, but the blurb beneath makes me think that’s the case. Pretty insane, especially for any non-breastrokers.

Yikes.

There was a time, many moons ago, where I could have done 16×100 LCM fly, but not on 1:20. That time is long gone, and my shoulders sympathetically hurt just reading about that!
